Chew on This! Organic Cooking on a Budget
September 11/6:30 pm - 8:00 pm$8 – $10
Eating healthy on a budget is a challenge facing many of us today with our busy, and sometimes distracted, lives. Even so, there are a few steps we can take to help our budget and fuel our bodies without being forced down the processed food path of convenience.
With that in mind, here are some topics we will discuss to help us and our loved ones eat organically and affordably throughout the year:
- how to get more greens in your diet in the winter
- how to add some creative proteins to your daily routine
- how to get different flavor profiles from one item in your kitchen
- how to use all your leftovers to make other creative meals and snack
Learn how to use these skills during the upcoming fall season (while supporting your favorite farmers!) to keep you well-fed and your pantry stocked in the cold months.
Presented by Brenda Doggett. Well-known by many in our network for her culinary expertise, Brenda has a variety of additional interests including riding her Harley Davidson, quilting for charity, meeting and convention planning, and essential oils. While living in Tampa, Florida she assisted in many cooking classes with local, national and international chefs. During her travels, she searches out cooking classes, food tours, and local restaurants. Classes in in Budapest, Thailand, Vietnam, and Italy have added creativity to her table.
Tickets will be available at the door. Save $$ and buy your ticket in advance! Click here to purchase tickets (Note: we no longer will be serving dinner as part of this event; tea and water will be provided).
